If you’re going away on holiday this summer, you might just want to take a few minutes to read this post. Being on holiday is an exciting time for children but it can also be fairly stressful for parents. When we went to Florida last summer, Ghostwriterdaddy and I spent pretty much the whole time there keeping a close watch on the kids. The toddler did spend time out of his buggy and we aren’t fans of reins, so keeping him within our eyesight at all times was obviously a full time job. The big one didn’t come without her own set of problems either. Easily distracted, especially at Disney World, she had a tendency to lag behind or to suddenly change direction. We quickly realised just how easy it could be to – God forbid- lose one of them.
With this in mind, I was asked to write a review of a pretty fantastic scheme being run by Netflights.com and since it is all about an issue close to my- and many, many other parents’- heart, I couldn’t say no. Netflights.com are giving away 500 reusable children’s ID bracelets to help parents retain a little bit of their well-earned sanity during the summer holiday period. I think its a fantastic idea.
The ID bracelets are a brilliant idea. As Netflights.com say:
“Using an ID bracelet, if someone finds your lost child, they can easily locate you via your contact information on the ID bracelet to help reunite you with your child as quickly as possible. This simple and effective solution really does work, particularly with younger children who perhaps cannot talk or explain very well, especially in a stressful situation such as being lost”
In addition, medical information can be added to the bracelet to ensure that your child is offered appropriate care should they need it.
It can be so easy to take your eye off the ball for a moment and that can be all it takes to find yourself in your worst nightmare. We’ve all been there- one minute your toddler is by your side and the next you’re frantically running up and down the aisles of the supermarket with a thumping heart. Nine times out of ten, your toddler is by the comics, eating crayons and totally oblivious to your panic. But on holiday, where situations are unusual and perhaps the locals do not speak English, that panic can increase and intensify. An ID bracelet will give you peace of mind and, in the event of separation, will help you find your child a lot quicker.
It makes sense to me. The bracelets cost nothing and are avaialble on Netflight.com’s Facebook page. Simply enter your details to be within a chance of winning two. The offer ends at the end of this week. At the end of the day, keeping your child safe is one of the most important jobs you’ll have on holiday this year- why not make your job a little easier?
